Heavy falls above 100 mm expected in Sri Lanka

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, Southern, Uva and North-central provinces and Mannar and Vauniya districts after 2.00 p.m(20 April), Department of Meteorology – Sri Lanka says

Heavy falls above 100 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western provinces.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity and localized strong winds during thundershowers.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.
