The first person who completely recovered from COVID 19 in the country, has emphasized the public to evade being scared and to refrain from hiding their condition if they suffer symptoms of the virus.

“I did not get intimidated or scared, and I did not hide. I was directed to get myself admitted to the IDH hospital,” Jayantha Ranasinghe, 52, who tested positive on March 10 said.

He pointed out that his responsible conduct had contributed to saving the lives of his children and the people in his residential area of Mattegoda, located around 22 kilometres from the capital Colombo.

“If you have the symptoms of this viral infection, come forward and reveal these details,” Ranasinghe insisted recalling that he had visited a doctor when he first developed a fever.

“I have fulfilled my responsibility you should fulfil your responsibility too. Protect your village and protect your country,” he emphasized.
