Sri Lanka reports highest daily Coronavirus surge

Sri Lanka reported 63 coronavirus cases on Sunday, According to the Epidemiology Unit, the total number infected by the Coronavirus had risen to 523 As of 11:58 PM on Sunday.

This is the highest coronavirus figure recorded in a single day in the island nation. The Epidemiology Unit says 396 active cases are currently under medical at several selected hospital across the island.

In the meantime, 120 coronavirus patients have recovered completely, while 7 patients succumbed to the disease.

Curfew time

The ongoing island-wide curfew will be in force Today (27) to facilitate the Tri-forces personnel on leave to return to their respective camps, says the President’s Media Division (PMD).

Accordingly, the curfew in all districts, except for Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha and Puttalam, will be lifted at 5.00 am on Tuesday (28) and re-imposed at 8.00 pm on the same day.

Curfew in these districts was scheduled to be lifted at 5.00 am on Monday (27), however, the government revised the decision after leave of all Tri-forces personnel was cancelled Sunday.
