Ministry of Health confirms that eight more persons had tested positive for the Coronavirus at of 10.10 pm Yesterday (03). Accordingly, the total number of COVID-19 positive patients in the country stands at 159.
Meanwhile, 131 patients are currently under medical care while 24 patients were discharged after making complete recoveries.
Four COVID-19 patients have succumbed to the deadly virus in Sri Lanka.
As of now, 1,741 persons are still in quarantine in 40 island-wide facilities and one more group of 155 are scheduled to leave tomorrow (04), says the Commander of Army.
He mentioned this during the routine media interaction at the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) at Rajagiriya this afternoon (03).
During a 24 hour window which ended at 06 am Yesterday(03 April) 1,264 people were arrested for violating the curfew and 325 vehicles were seized.
In total, 10,730 people were arrested by police for violating the curfew and 2,657 vehicles were seized.
The Government of Sri Lanka imposed the curfew and banned movement between districts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
